• to promote purebred registered dogs
• to encourage the training of purebred registered dogs for show, field and obedience trials
• to organize classes for obedience and field training for all dogs, and training classes for field, show, and obedience for purebred registered dogs
• to assist the novice and new contestants in understanding ring and trial and field procedures and rules governing them
• to have an educational programme suited to both the breeder, dog enthusiast and pet owner
• to hold under Canadian Kennel Club rules subject to the approval thereof, field and obedience trials, and all breed shows at the Fun, Sanction and Licensed level
• to create an atmosphere conducive to the enthusiastic enhancement of the "Dog" in our society
• to improve through efforts of the corporation, and corporate members the standards of breeding

The WDCA all breed championship conformation dog shows and obedience trials took place on July 14 &15, 2008.

WDCA general meetings are held at 8 pm on the 1st Wednesday of each month (except February, July, August & December) at the Woodstock Legion on Brant Street in Woodstock.  

Upcoming ...

Next general meeting is September 3, 2008 at the Legion in the Fireside Room.  

Obedience classes will begin September 15, 2008 at 7 pm.

An area with mats is provided for local conformation enthusiasts to come out and practice with their show dogs while obedience classes are being conducted.  A charge of $8 weekly applies to use the facility and our mats.  There is no instructor.  This opportunity will resume September 15, 2008.

Obedience classes and conformation practice take place at the Oxford Auditorium in Woodstock, Ontario.

The Woodstock and District Canine Association has taken part in the 1st - 3rd annual Recreation and Leisure Fairs.  

WDCA supports the efforts of Friends Of Pittock.

WDCA has donated $1100. toward the Banned Aid Legal Defense Fund.  

WDCA is proud to be a Platinum sponsor of the Dairy Capital Run.

WDCA also proudly supports Timber, the police dog of the Oxford Community Police Services. 

Donations are made to the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust when a member's dog passes away.
